Summary: The U.S. Mission in Kingston, Jamaica is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Accountant in the Financial Management Office (FMO).

 

The work schedule for this position is:

•            Full Time (number of hours per week e.g. 40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (four weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

 

 

 

Supervisory Position:  No

 

Duties: The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining Post allotment records and cuff records to accurately reflect funding received, obligated and/or liquidated for ICASS, PROGRAM and CA appropriations. Uses Ariba, E Travel, RFMS Momentum and any other methods to assign strip codes to all obligating documents in accordance with USG standard regulations. The incumbent will also be responsible to conduct all end of year close out procedures of the above-mentioned appropriations in compliance with instructions from GFSC-Charleston. Filing and maintaining all accounting documents in an audit ready condition.

 

Qualifications and Evaluations

 

EDUCATION:  Completion of High School is required.

 

Requirements:

 

EXPERIENCE:    Seven to Nine years of progressive accounting responsibilities to include some cashiering, voucher examining, allotment accounting and financial analysis is required.

 

Evaluations:

 

LANGUAGE:  Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Must be able to exercise sound judgment; work independently and be an effective team player. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

 

Qualifications:  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
