(GK Foods - Central Finance Unit)

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with cashier transactions and the safe handling of the company’s liquid assets.



  • Record and settle all cashier transactions
  • Ensure that all transactions are accurately updated
  • Process  per diem request
  • Processing of debit and credit card transactions
  • Processing petty cash transaction and prepare reimbursement request
  • Establish and ensure that all customer service standards are maintained
  • Maintain a high vigilance regarding security matters within the unit e.g. counterfeit and petty cash float
  • Strict adherence to established cut off times and procedures
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information, where applicable.
  • Assign credit card mobile machine to Sales Representatives and train them to use machines as well as follow up on the location of machines
  • Follow up queries for Sales Representatives regarding cash bags with discrepancies from courier services (Guardsman and King Alarm)
  • Investigate and clear reconciling items on bank reconciliation
  • Preparation of lodgement reports
  • Verification of  charges and cash processing fees for Guardsman Armoured
  • Report, record and investigate cash differences



  • Diploma from a recognised institution or Five (5) GCE O’Levels/CXC General Passes, including English Language and a numeric subject (Mathematics or Accounting)
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications and other software applications

  • Customer-service Skills: Cashiers must be courteous and friendly when helping customers. Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Manual Dexterity: Cashiers use their hands to operate registers and scanners.
  • Listening Skills: Cashiers must pay attention to customer questions, instructions, and complaints.
  • Patience: Cashiers must be able to remain calm when interacting with customers who are upset or angry.  Must be able to assist customers in resolving issues.
