Monitor non-performing accounts daily and implement appropriate actions deemed necessary to ensure that borrowers are conforming to the current arrangements and kept from being referred to  bailiff and/or attorneys and implement remedial action/actions if necessary, to clear arrears and/or recover debt.

Review non-performing portfolio daily, conduct research and make recommendations.

Determine the adequacy and enforceability (with legal assistance if necessary) of collateral security, the financial condition of the borrower(s) and their capacity to service the debt.

Meet with debtors to establish repayment arrangements and/or explore compromise settlements and make recommendations subject to agreement of the Manager and/or Senior Manager - Collections and approval of the Credit Committee.

Employ strategies to ensure collections on Non-performing Loans to meet targets.

Prepare account details and instructions to Attorneys regarding Letters of Demand, Statutory Notice, Public Auction etc. including instructions for Carriage of Sale in consultation with the Manager and/or Senior Manager – Collections.

Prepare correspondence to Bailiff for repossession of pledged security, and arrange for storage and subsequent sale.

Review bills received for services rendered by Bailiffs, Attorneys, Collectors, etc. to ensure that they bear relationship to instructions given and the agreed/known scale of fees and obtain the requisite approval to settle promptly.

Prepare and submit monthly non-performing portfolio reports within the required turnaround times.

Recommend debts for “Write Off” and maintain records of “Debts Written-Off & Recoveries”.

Assist in maintaining current list of properties for sale for dissemination to real estate dealers.

Assist Lenders by communicating actions taken on non-performing accounts, thus maintaining ongoing client relationships.

Employ strategies to ensure collection on non-performing loans to meet targets.



Thorough Knowledge of the Banking Services Act 2014 and Regulations regarding Credit Classification, Provisioning and Non-accrual Requirements.

Knowledge of IFRS 9 requirements is a plus.

Sound knowledge of security documentation, perfection and procedure for discharge of various types of security.

Well-developed communication skills, oral and written.

Sound knowledge of procedures for disposing of assets within non-performing portfolio.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Exel and strong analytical skills.

Good interpersonal skills to negotiate and work effectively with customers in distress, successfully handle complaints, ability to understand customers’ individual needs and requirements and vary interpersonal approach to each situation while achieving the Bank’s objectives.

First Degree in Management Studies, Finance, Banking, Economics or FICB preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of general credit experience, including corporate lending, loan administration and delinquency management.

Good understanding of accounting procedures and practices.
