PROJECT MANAGER (CONTRACT)

Job Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Project Portfolio Manager, the Project Manager will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to agreed timelines, scope and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

 

Core Responsibilities:

Supervises the overall execution of assigned projects.
 Manages project team members to ensure high performance and productivity levels are maintained at all times and objectives and targets are achieved.
 Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Ensures ongoing communication and effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
Sets and continually manages project expectations with team member and other stakeholders.
Where required, negotiate with other Human Resources and/or other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
 Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
Develops and delivers progress reports and presentation.
Manages changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devises contingency plan proactively.
Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Conduct project retrospectives and creates a recommendation report that will identify successful and unsuccessful project elements,
 

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Studies, IT, Management Studies or substantially equivalent degree from a recognized tertiary institution.
5+ years working experience in project management which should include aspects of process development and execution.
Experience in IT project management.
PMP Certification.
Agile training and/or experience would be an asset.
