JOB PURPOSE

Under the supervision of the Vendor Relationship Manager the Vendor Management Specialist will act as a secondary point of contact between all solution partners and providers of eGov Jamaica Limited.  The incumbent will be responsible for identifying the company’s vendors for software, hardware, consulting services and other types of products and services utilized by the company. The Vendor Management Specialist will also assist in the procurement of vendor services, negotiates contracts, manages the relationship with the company’s vendors and evaluates potential providers.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensures the delivery of goods and services in conformity with supplier/vendors’ contractual obligations.
  • Interfaces with end users and suppliers.
  • Works with technology provider companies and entities in order to incorporate IT tools and services.
  • Maintains relationships with existing suppliers as well as source alternative suppliers locally and globally.
  • Works with Procurement Operations staff to ensure complete sourcing and procurement solution that delivers optimal outcomes.
  • Develops and reviews contracts to ensure compliance with the company’s specifications.
  • Keeps the management team apprised of projects and initiatives involving vendors.
  • Assists in the technical evaluation of tenders/bids from vendors/contractors for the supply and/or installation of products and/or services for the clients of eGov.Ja.
  • Ensures that high performance and productivity levels are maintained at all times and objectives and targets are achieved.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain Management/Procurement Management or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Three (3) years technical management experience or post-graduate degree in related discipline preferred.
  • Direct work experience with software licensing, hardware procurement, and agreements in a purchasing or procurement capacity.
  • Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies, across a wide variety of areas

Salary package ranges from $2.85 million – $3.42 million per annum plus any allowance(s) attached to this position.
