Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified professionals to resource the role of Project Analyst/Coordinator, Information and Knowledge Management Department, Financial Institutions Supervisory Division. 

Reporting to the Director, Information Management, Information and Knowledge Management Department, Financial Institutions Supervisory Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Developing systems for IT & Business systems projects for FISD.
  2. Evaluating and testing of code in support of systems development.
  3. Developing and maintaining project strategy plans based on logical framework approach to monitor and evaluate projects.
  4. Maintaining project time frames, objectives and communications.
  5. Creating and managing all documentation and reports for projects.
  6. Identifying the performance parameters and requirement of each project.
  7. Verifying and analyzing data and information to ensure it aligns with   the objective of a project.
  8. Tracking forecasting and reporting on project progress including metrics and challenges.
  9. Collecting the necessary information required to commence projects.
  10. Keeping aware of current legislation applicable to each project.
  11. Performing any other duties consistent with the nature and function of the job.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate Degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Studies - with technology-related certificates/certification or related discipline.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in computer programming specifically, C# and Java

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Hands on experience developing project plans, coordinating project activities, managing issues/defects, track project activities and documentation.
  • Experience with project management and Unified Modified Language (UML) diagram tools.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Mobile browser and native apps experience is a plus.
  • Must have the desire for delivering excellence in product quality, and reliability.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication, project and time management skills a must.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented in regards to verbal and written documentation and communication.
  • Knowledge of the Bank of Jamaica Act, the Banking Services Act, the Financial Institutions’ Act, Building Societies Act and any other relevant legislation, BOJ directives and regulations.
  • Understanding of supervisory best practices, legislation and regulation.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the BOJ’s business and operations.
  • Knowledge of standards and procedures in the development and implementation of information systems.
  • Strong information technology skills particularly sound knowledge of business intelligence tools/software.
  • Excellent communicator with highly developed oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Report writing skills.

  • Requires a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Exposed to unpredictable work demands related to developments beyond the control of, and external to the Division.
  • Exposed to extended periods of concentration on exacting detail.
  • Required to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary, in order to meet deadlines.
